About Our Trails
The trails today are maintained by community volunteers. Please use caution when on the trails since conditions can change based on the weather. Map accuracy will vary using GPS devices depending on cell phone and satellite reception.
And as always, pack out what you carry in!

Trail Use Policy
Please observe the following rules while enjoying the NLT:
1. Please sign in. IT IS FOR YOUR SAFETY and our information. Keeping an accurate record of the number and origins of our visitors aids us in fundraising monies that the trust needs to continue to provide the community with this great resource.
2. Be courteous to other users. Avoid loud noise and offensive behavior.
3. No unauthorized motor vehicles allowed. No Mountain Biking.
4. No hunting or trapping.
5. Pack it in, pack it out. If you must bring food and/or beverage into the NLT, kindly take the waste with you back out. There are no garbage receptacles onsite to avoid attracting wildlife. Food waste should not be disposed of in the woodstove, firepits, or privy. Bag it with your garbage and dispose of it properly at home. Do not leave surplus food for others. No glass.
6. Dogs must be leashed. No person shall leave a pet unattended or fail to maintain complete control over the pet. Remove all pet waste from trail and common areas. No horses.
7. Outhouses – There are three composting privies on the property, one located at Luke’s Lodge, one at the Clubhouse and one in the Meadow. Please follow the directions posted to ensure sanitary and ecologically friendly use.
8. Park in designated areas.
9. Observe the Leave No Trace principles. No Unauthorized trail-building.
10. Avoid post-holing the trail by wearing the proper footwear (skis or snowshoes) during winter-use. Snowshoes or skis are required when the snow is more than 5" deep. Snowshoers should make separate tracks to the side of the ski tracks whenever possible or use the designated snowshoe trails.
11. Be Safe: Take proper gear for the weather. Water and map are suggested. Phone service is spotty.
12. For overnight camping and large groups, contact Hal Moore at (518) 570-5375.
13. No fires except in the Clubhouse woodstove, designated fire pit areas at the Clubhouse, Scout Lean-to and Stage, and only when fire danger is LOW. Here is a link to the statewide fire danger map website:
